Fabric and fibre options for babywear
In babywear we use organic cotton; our GOTS certificate covers babywear. Bamboo viscose and modal blends can be chosen for softness. The fabric is a fine, soft-handle knit; seams are planned outward-facing or flat, and snaps and trims undergo strength testing. Every lot is measured at intake for dimensional stability after washing. We source the fabric; for this group, single jersey, interlock and rib are among the knitted fabrics we can supply.
Fibres
Natural and regenerated
Organic cotton is the fibre we use in this group; the others can be chosen for blends. Details on the fibres page.

Working model for babywear

Full-package
The design and the tech pack come from you; fabric, snaps, labels and the supply chain within the GOTS scope come from us.

Certifications
Baby products are within the scope of our OEKO-TEX Standard 100 Class I certificate: the strictest limit values of the standard. Organic cotton babywear is explicitly listed in our GOTS scope certificate; the Transaction Certificate shows that the goods shipped are certified.

Frequently asked questions about babywear production
What does OEKO-TEX Class I mean for babywear?
It is the strictest set of limit values in the standard; baby and toddler products up to 36 months are tested in this class. In our certificate, baby products are in this class. Products such as socks and everyday clothing are covered by our Class II certificate; the two should not be confused.
How do we order GOTS certified babywear?
You state GOTS and the label level in writing in your order ("Organic" at least 95%, "Made With Organic" at least 70% certified organic fibre). Our scope certificate covers babywear; a Transaction Certificate is issued for your shipment.
How are seams and labels planned for a baby's skin?
Seams are planned outward-facing or flat so that the seam allowance does not bother the skin; the label position and type are specified in the tech pack. These details are checked together at sample approval.
Can we start with a small quantity?
Yes. Planning is suited to small first orders; the quantity threshold is confirmed at the quotation stage according to product type and fabric. As the collection grows, repeat orders are planned with the same pattern and fabric.
Are snaps and trims tested?
Yes. Snaps and trims undergo strength testing and the results are recorded in the tech pack. Trims are chosen according to babywear safety requirements.
