Balance of generation and consumption
The plant generates the facility's own electricity. Over the year, generation exceeds the facility's consumption. The plant's annual electricity needs are thus met by the sun, and the surplus fed into the grid further reduces our carbon footprint.
-
Generation on the roof
The panels on the facility's roof generate electricity from daylight; installed capacity is 611 kWp.
-
Consumption in the facility
The sock knitting, sewing, pressing and packing lines use the electricity generated directly in the facility.
-
Surplus to the grid
Generation above consumption is fed into the regional electricity grid.
The balance compares annual totals: the electricity the plant generates in a year exceeds what the facility consumes in the same year. The electricity drawn from and fed into the grid during the day varies from moment to moment.
What it means for brands
Your product is sewn in a facility whose rooftop plant generates more over the year than the facility consumes. For the energy side of the facility in your supply chain reporting there are two figures: 611 kWp installed capacity and 780,000 kWh generated per year.
The plant is not a certificate but the facility's own investment. Our certificates and the scope of each are on the certifications page; the raw material side is on the fibres page.
Sustainability Department
In 2014 we founded the Sustainability Department to build the corporate framework and principles for sustainability. This department monitors the efficient use of resources within the company; in addition to strengthening our corporate culture, it ensures the continuity of all certification and audit processes.
Our goal
At HC Organize Tekstil, our aim is to minimise the impact of our production for a clean and sustainable environment.
We generate solar energy with a system of 611 kWp DC capacity on the facility's roof. The system produces 780,000 kWh of electricity a year, which is above the facility's own consumption. The surplus is fed into the local electricity grid.
With a solar system that generates more electricity than we use in a year, we significantly reduce the carbon footprint of our production. This production avoids approximately 360 tonnes of CO₂e (carbon dioxide equivalent) emissions per year.
